BENZIE COUNTY
ROAD COMMISSION — Projects
2011 Completed Road Projects:
- Arcadia Scenic Overlook on M-22 — Deck replacement and foundation stabilization.
- Bronson Lake Road — Between Reynolds Road and Lake Ann Road in Inland
Township. The proposed work includes 1 mile of chip sealing, fog sealing and pavement
markings.
- Copemish Road — Resurface 1/2 mile.
- Demerly Road — between Raymond Road and Forrester Road in Blaine Township.
The proposed work includes paved shoulders and super elevation corrections as well
as removal and replacement of the existing guardrail.
- Joyfield Road at Putney Road — Intersection in Blaine Township. The proposed
work includes tree removal and earth excavation to create Clear Sight Triangles on
both approaches of Putney Road at Joyfield Road, looking east.
- Kast Road/Arner Road — Resurface 1 mile of Kast Road and 450’ of Arner
Road (Joyfield Township).
- Lake Michigan Road Boat Launch — A new launch was installed in conjunction
with Benzie County and Parks and Recreation.
- Lindy Road — Colfax Township. Replace the existing culvert approximately
200’ east of the Laughing Horse Saloon.
- Marshall Road — between Eastman Road and CB Drive in Homestead and Benzonia
Townships. The proposed work includes paved shoulders and removal and replacement
of the existing guardrail.
- Mick Road — between Raymond Road and Rice Road in Blaine and Joyfield
Townships. The proposed work includes trenching, paved shoulders, and removal and
replacement of the existing guardrail.
- Reynolds Road — Between US-31 and Fewins Road in Inland Township. The
proposed work includes 1 mile of chip sealing, fog sealing, and pavement markings.
- Sliverville Road — Chipseal from Paul Rose Road east to the Nugent Road
(Gilmore and Blaine Townships).
- Wallin Road — Replace existing culvert (Colfax Township).
- Skip Paving — Intermittent paving on Mick, Joyfield, Putney and Gorivan
Roads.
2010 Completed Projects Include:
- Adams Road — Chip Seal with participation from Crystal Lake Township
- ARRA Projects
- Lake Michigan Road — Chip Seal and Sign Upgrades
- N. Manistee County Line Road — Guardrail and Chip Seal
- River Road — Chip Seal and Sign Upgrades
- Beulah Park Drive — Rehabilitation and Resurfacing with participation
from Benzonia Township.
- Burnt Mill Bridge over the Platte River — With participation from the
Conservation Resource Alliance
- Carlson Road — Chip Seal with participation from Crystal Lake Township
- Cedar Run Road Safety Project — Rumble Strips and Sign Upgrades
- Didrickson Road — Chip Seal with participation from Crystal Lake Township
- Hulbert Road — Culvert Replacement and Seasonal Road Upgrade with participation
from Inland Township, MDNRE, and Conservation Resource Alliance.
- Nelson Road — Chip Seal with participation from Crystal Lake Township
- Reynolds Road Safety Project — Sign Upgrades
- Robinson Road — Chip Seal with participation from Crystal Lake Township
