Re: 2010 Projects

This letter is to update you on a number of projects that we have been working on for the 2010 construction season. The following list contains a variety of projects using several funding sources including American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funds, Federal Safety Funds, High Risk Rural Road Funds, EPA Grant funds as well as some local matching funds.

ARRA Projects – July 6 – July 30, 2010
Lake Michigan Road – Chip Seal – from M – 22 to the Mouth of the Platte River. River Road – Chip Seal – from M – 22 to West Benzonia Village Limits. North Manistee Co. Line Road – Chip Seal – from US-31 to Kurick Road

HRR and Safety Projects Reynolds Road – Sign Replacement – from Fewins Road to CR-610 Cedar Run Road at Reynolds Road – Sign Replacement and Rumble Strips North Manistee County Line Road – Guardrail Installation East of Wallaker Road by Borwell’s Farm.

Culvert Replacement Projects Burnt Mill Road at the Platte River - Proposed 54’ span bridge in cooperation with the Conservation Resource Alliance. This project funded primarily with an EPA Grant obtained by CRA. Hulbert Road at Stanley Creek – Proposed Pipe Arch and road improvements to provide winter maintenance. This project is partially funded with an MDEQ Grant in cooperation with the CRA and Inland Township. Lindy Road just West of Thurman – Replace existing culvert which is severely deteriorated with maintenance funds. As winter continues to unfold this list may change.
