The Benzie County Road Commission will be holding a special meeting starting 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2026 at the Honor Board meeting room to conduct interviews of selected prospective applicant for the new facility - Construction Manager position.

SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTION NOTICE

RE: Spring Weight Restriction Bulletin for 2025

Effective Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 6:00 AM, Seasonal Weight and Speed Restrictions will be imposed and enforced on all Benzie County Roads, with the exception of the following All Season (Class A) Routes: (Click here to download map of All-Season roads)

-River Road (CR 608) from US-31 to M-22.CR 669 (Maple City and Thompsonville Hwy) from the village of Thompsonville north to the Leelanau County Line.

-Joyfield Road (CR 602) from US-31 to Smeltzer Road.

-North Manistee County Line Road (CR 602) from US 31 east to Kurick Road.

-Cinder Road (CR 608) from Pioneer Road (CR 677) to Thompsonville Hwy (CR 669).
(There is no Class A connector at Cinder Road and Pioneer Road).

-Indian Hill Road (CR 679) from US-31 to Fowler Road

-Fowler Rd (CR 610) Indian Hill to M-22

-Grace Road (CR 606) from US-31 west to M-22.Platte Road (CR 706) from US-31 to M-22.

-Lake Michigan Road

-Homestead Road (CR 608) Case Rd to Pioneer Rd

Marshall Road (CR 679)

Lindy Road M-115 to Village of Thompsonville

-Homestead Road US-31 to Pioneer Road

A complete lists of roads affected can be obtained by calling the Road Commission or visiting our website at www.benziecrc.org, or the County Road Association of Michigan (CRA) website at www.micountyroads.org. CRA updates road restrictions for the entire state.

All extended permits will be valid for oversize only until weight restrictions have been removed.

The Michigan State Police, Motor Carrier Division will be enforcing weight restrictions in Benzie County.

Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) governs all state highways. You can reach them at 1-800-787-8960.
